The COBIT 5 Foundation exam

The COBIT 5 Foundation exam consists of 50 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 40 minutes. The exam is closed-book and delivered online via the PeopleCert platform. To successfully pass the exam, candidates must achieve a minimum score of 50% (25 correct answers out of 50). Upon passing, participants will be awarded the COBIT 5 Foundation certificate issued directly by PeopleCert.

Participants who pass the exam will receive the COBIT® 5 Foundation Certificate, officially issued by PeopleCert. This internationally recognized certificate validates the candidate’s understanding of COBIT 5 principles, enablers, and governance components, and serves as a foundational credential for professionals in IT governance, audit, risk, and compliance roles.

  • Governance System: Learn the components of the governance system including governance framework, processes, organizational structures, culture, information flows, and policies.
  • Governance and Management Principles: Explore the 5 key principles of COBIT 5, which underpin the governance system and ensure it delivers value.
  • Stakeholder Needs and Value Creation: Discuss how governance systems consider stakeholder needs to create value from IT-enabled investments.

Day 2 - Governance and Management Objectives

Focus on the core governance and management objectives of COBIT5, the practical pillars that drive IT governance.

  • Governance Objectives: Learn how governance evaluates, directs, and monitors enterprise activities to meet stakeholder needs and align with business goals.
  • Management Objectives: Understand the 40 management objectives that support governance by managing IT activities and processes efficiently.
  • Design Factors: Discover how contextual elements like enterprise goals, risk appetite, and compliance needs affect how COBIT is tailored.
  • Performance Management: Explore how to measure the effectiveness of governance and management objectives using performance metrics and maturity models.
  • Tailoring COBIT: Techniques to customize the governance system and management objectives to fit unique enterprise environments.

Day 3 - Implementation and Exam Preparation

Prepares participants for practical implementation of COBIT and certification success:

  • Implementation Guidance: Understand steps to plan, execute, and maintain COBIT implementation tailored to the enterprise context.
  • Change Management: Explore strategies for managing organizational change during governance adoption.
  • Exam Preparation: Review key concepts and take part in mock exams and quizzes to solidify understanding.
